2.5: MORE EXAMPLES
There are many other cases of eight-person formations which consist of one four-person formation inside another. In general, for such formations, the dancers in the inner formation are the Centers and the others are the Ends.

The facing direction of the individual dancers does not usually affect whether they are considered Centers or Ends. In particular, in any "2 by 4" formation (of which parallel waves and columns are simple examples), the dancers in the center box are the Centers and the other four dancers are the Ends, regardless of facing direction.
