7.7: CROSS
After a call which leaves dancers in a mini-wave box of four, the call and Cross means that the trailers pull by with each other diagonally, using their outside hand (the hand that isn't in toward their partner in the box). The result is back to back couples.
Cross can also be used from facing couples to designate particular dancers to do the same sort of action, e.g. "Beaus Cross".
From parallel columns of 4 where there are three pairs of dancers facing each other diagonally, the call Triple Cross means that all three pairs should do a crossing action. Similarly, Double Cross is sometimes used where there are two pairs of dancers facing diagonally, in parallel columns of 3. (In either case the two dancers who are not facing somebody else diagonally do nothing.)
