1.4: BOX VS. SPLIT

The call Box Counter Rotate means that a box should turn around its center point.

The caller will identify the people who are to do this action. Most commonly, it will be the center box of parallel waves or columns, and the caller will say "Centers Box Counter Rotate". But the caller might use other words to identify the people -- for example if the boys were all in the center he could say "Boys Box Counter Rotate". Sometimes, if the center is a box the caller might leave out the word box and say just "Centers Counter Rotate". These all mean exactly the same thing.

The centers, who are all boys, and form a box, counter rotate around the center point of that box.

The call Split Counter Rotate means to divide the whole formation into two halves, and each half will counter rotate around its own center point.

If each half of the formation is a box, then each of those boxes will be doing a Box Counter Rotate. (This is the same meaning of "split" as in Split Circulate, which means that each half of the formation should do a Box Circulate.)
